Hello from Cali

Hey all,

I am thinking about buying a mini so i decided to sign up here today and learn as much as i can about Mini. I am tired of my 2006 G35 coupe and want to switch it up. I think Mini cooper is going to be a awesome car for track, i mean its compact, good performance, and easy to mod. What do you guys think? If possible, send me some info this way or i'll just use the search function.

Thanks
Henry

Welcome.
I'm not a racer but i can tell you that the R53 is great on handling. Just tweaked it a little more with aftermarket parts and I could only imagine that it would be a great track car. I had a 2003 G35 and those cars are heavy. Have you considered a Lotus Exige?

I agreed, the g35 is too heavy and doesn't want to turn the way i would like. I have not done any research for the Lotus yet because i am afraid of high maintenance.

There are different variants of mini Cooper so soak up on info before you take the plunge. Good Luck.

I was in your shoes 3 months ago. I traded in my '05 G35c 6MT for a '10 Clubman S and have not regretted it. The G had tons of power, but handled like a boat... Not to mention the crappy mileage. The r55s, while 100 hp less, handles well, is fast enough, and gets me 30+ mpg.

You won't regret making the switch.
