Just checking in to share support with others waiting for a new MINI. I'm a long-time Miata driver (Mk I & II) who decided that the Mk III Miata has finally gotten too bulbous and heavy, and taken away too much interior space (my wife couldn't even stretch her legs out straight in the passenger footwell--she used to could in the Mk I & II). Loved test driving the MINI S convertible, it fit both my wife and I like a very comfortable glove! Only downside is FWD, I will miss that beautiful oversteer kicking out around corners (sigh!)...but the MINI handled beautifully for all that. Ordered my MT orange spice convertible S with toffee seats and a beige interior on Oct. 26, and it's in Baltimore already! This is the first time I've ever ordered a car from the factory. Yippee! Hoping it gets to Columbus in time for the holiday weekend....

PS Not sure how much I'll be on here, once I have a new toy to drive around in my spare time. I was an active member of rec.autos.makers.mazda.miata for quite a while, and I'm sorta starting to get MINI fever....
