Yes, I know that it's stupid. Why not tint your windshield while you're at it?

Here is what I know about headlight tint. When I put a clear bra on my new C6 Corvette in 2006, I had them do the headlights as well. I was told the film was thin enough that it would not retain heat - as you know those projector headlights put out a lot.

After a short while I started reading about some owners who were seeing crazing on their headlight lenses if the film was too many mils thick. When I inspected mine sure enough one of them had started crazing on the bottom of the lens. On those cars you can't replace the lens without baking/ungluing so I had to replace one.

Needless to say I removed the film and never used it again. I don't know if this is a problem on the Mini headlights but something to be aware of.

Some tint films can't take the heat most lamps put out (not sure if that's what Jake was referring to) and will often show a 'burn' mark on the film after a while - so look out for that.
