New Member Getting Ready to Roll...

Hi all, welcome to my first post on this forum!

I'm a new member getting ready to order a 2013 Mini - I have it configured just the way I want it and can't wait to get the process started. I just need to finalize the sale of one of my cars and I'll be good to go!

I plan on ordering a JCW Vert in red with the black stripe...so this will be my first red car and first Mini as well.

I look forward to learning about the new ride. At this point I plan to order from forum vendor South Bay Mini, it looks like MSRP is the way it will be with these things. Any tips or advice from the veterans is of course welcome!

Hi Jake, and welcome!

I put my order in on 10/27 and have changed/added items 3 times since then! Take your time and decide what you can and can't live without. MINIs are well worth the wait!

Hi Al, thank for the welcome! I think I have everything nailed down as far as configuration goes. We have a few dealers here locally and I am wondering if any of them will "deal." Hope all is well in New Jersey - what a mess there after Hurricane Sandy!

Still waiting to get the allocation to join the club that is waiting for their new car!

I'm going to drive over to the dealership tomorrow and see what's up. Last I heard was the MA was waiting for a email response to a request to one dealer to trade an allocation for his JCW Roadster for a JCW Convertible (which is my pending order).

They have 116 new cars there right now so I would think they would get a decent allocation. Anyone know how this works? Only a few allocations for JCW Convertibles I guess? Seems like if I want to order one, someone should want to take my money! LOL

BTW the dealer is not South Bay Mini, I emailed the contact from the forum per their instructions and never got a response. So I gave my deposit to another large local dealer. Since they are not a forum vendor I don't want to offend anyone by naming them, but local folks can figure it out.

Hi Jake, thanks for the hope. All is well in my part of the state, but the shoreline in Monmouth and Ocean Counties is literally a disaster area. Northern parts of the state and mountainous areas are still without power :( The Nor'Easter also didn't help that. I hope you get some sort of answer soon. I couldn't imagine waiting the extra two weeks being a west coast customer. My car is scheduled to be complete (born) on Nov 16th and should be here my the end of this month or 1st of Dec.
Keep us posted!

Al, as you saw in my other post, I am on the way! Order went in yesterday. You have only a couple more weeks to go you lucky dog!

Yes is is total disaster there for sure. My company has an office in Manhattan and so many of our employees had homes and autos damaged - of course I did not experience it as you did but I did see all the photos they sent me and it is mind boggling. Several were without power for a weekand I can't even imagine dealing with generators when there is no gas to be bought! One of my friends there would cycle his for an hour or two at a time - awful. Another co-worker who lives in Staten Island had to go through NJ to get to work - 3 1/2 hours one way after 40 minutes just waiting for a bus! WOW!

Anyway glad you are OK and things are getting better.
