New Mini owner here. I couldn't decide 6 months ago between a '12 Subaru WRX or a Mini and went with the WRX. Yesterday, I finally made the right decision and traded the WRX on a new '12 Countryman S and couldn't be happier! Don't get me wrong, the WRX was a fine car but just wasn't "me". I was, however, the envy of all of the teen age kids in my neighborhood.

Dont sweat LJ, you may leave here w/ minor bruises from time to time but the info that you pick up will make it so much more than worth it. I also considered a WRX but rejected it for the same reasons, plus fuel economy. Yes, they're wicked fast but I wasnt looking to step out of a Pathfinder at 18 MPG (2wd) and go into a WRX at 23. Im pleased w/ my consistent 32+ and go-cart like handling. Best of all worlds, and its def quirky like me.
