New mini in a car wreck

Sorry I am new to the site, and not sure where to post this. I was driving home from work and struck an animal. It did some major damage to my front end and the passenger side behind my door. I was just wondering if body work is expensive on a mini cooper. I've had the car a week and I'm waiting to see if the insurance company will total out my car. I have gap insurance, but I had to take out a personal loan for the down payment, I'm just afraid that if they total the car out that I will be screwed and I don't have anything to put down as a down payment towards a new one. Any comments or words of advice would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Don't know that it's any more expensive than other cars, though one could argue that the prices on replacement parts will be higher than, say, a Taurus.

I had a front end collision in my '11 MCS earlier this year. While airbags didn't deploy, the repair bill was still nearly $9000.

None of my airbags deployed. One of the mechanics at work looked at pictures and said the insurance company would total it out. I'm way upside Down in my car loan and I have gap insurance, so it would help me out if it was a total loss, but I don't think my insurance will give me money as a down payment towards another car. Today I should have more answers.

It will be interesting to see how this works out. Pictures of the damage would be something to look at.

Depends on your insurance. Some, like Allstate claim they will replace your car within 3 years if it is totaled.

I have progressive. I'm on my way to pick up my rental car and then I will go by the repair shop to get an update. I'm on my phone, when I get to a computer I will upload the pictures.
