It's part of the Opening Ceremony, with other quintessential British cultural things such as Chariots of Fire, Mary Poppins, & Mr. Bean. The ongoing commentary from my English friends is very positive about the proceedings, and they're a hard lot to please.

The Mini will certainly be seen when we get the time delayed broadcast on NBC.

 

This old computer has been freezing up every time I try to live stream the Opening Ceremony, so it looks like I'll just have to wait for NBC at 7:30.

I would love to see Her Majesty drive a MINI bearing the Olympic torch into the stadium!

And I assume everyone saw the new Mini commerical on NBC shortly after the Mini was in the opening ceremony!

 

I quite liked the entrance she did make, despite there being no MINI involved.
