Dub Convert, New MINI owner.

I just ordered (last wk) a new MINI Countryman S All4. White(no stripes), manual, SR, cold weather pkg, blk wheels w/ A/S's.
I ordered the blk headlight housings w/ Zenons, red door panels, blk headliner & ..??

We may add Bluetooth as its still waiting to enter production.
-opinions, is it worth it? $500
Do I still get the tunnel iph plug/connection w/o it?
(I'm thinking for $500 I'll use my ear set(BT).

We also ordered the Auto A/C as I kept reading R60 owners complaining of warm AC w/ the manual control AC Countryman.

I did not opt for the HK radio upgrade either. I did not even listed to either of them at the dealer but I think a simple radio is just fine.
Is it terrible compared to the HK version?

Anyhow, I've been a Vdubber for over 20yrs. I still own a highly modified Corrado & an A4 Avant.

I chose the Countryman because I want AWD, Manual, High Fun Factor & decent MPG.

Welcome!

If you want to pay less, you can get aftermarket bluetooth systems (like Parrot) but they will be visible. If you want a system that is part of the car and not noticeable then go with the factory option. The system works well but you are paying the extra to have it part of the car. It mainly comes down to cost. But I would do the same and just use an ear piece bluetooth...much cheaper.

As for the USB, I am not sure (1st gen owner here) so someone else would have to pitch in. I think you can order an iPhone plug though.

HK radio is worth it if you want to rock out to music without much degrading in sound quality. The HK system is great but the stock radio is still good as well. You will be perfectly happy with the stock radio and speakers.

But welcome to the community of MINIs, lots of very friendly and helpful people. Make sure you post pictures of your Countryman once it is delivered!!

the bluetooth does seem pricey for what it is, but depending on how long you plan on keeping the car, its almost a must for resale purposes(and it comes in handy more often than I thought it would)

standard connection includes an aux input i believe, but the usb input is not standard, but included in the $500 bluetooth package if i recall correctly

More about the Corrado and A4!
G60, VR6, VR6T????

Where in LI are you? it is nice to see more Mini owners popping up on NAM

I have owned a few VWs myself, although nothing special (a few B5's, both VW and Audi, MKI, II and IV's, etc)

oh, we did opt for the Sport Suspension(not sport pkge) & pani SR.
We are on the fence about the $500 alarm & $50 BT. The rest I'm pretty sure I can live w/o.
Gotta say, the Connect w/ Navi seems cool at hell, but @ $1700~ , sheesh. I gotta pass.
