New to the mini world

Just p/u a used 2003 base cooper CVT trans and 99k. Hope others can help withe some of the things that arise. Have worked and built a few cars but this is a new deal for a 50 something guy from CA. any advice is welcome.

Welcome! Keep an eye on that transmission because they are known to fail and it's not a cheap fix.

If you don't know the car's history, have the transmission fluid changed, it should be done every 28,000 miles, and use the dealer -- correct fluid is essential ( usually runs around $200 - $300. Many of us with CVT transmissions have had no problems, but there have been failures.

New to Mini world

Thanks to Uncl3 & OVERZY.Was told I have a new rebuild tranny, checking the closest Mini dealer for trans servicew unless you guys have a better idea.
