We finally did it. Just a couple of days after selling our 5-year old VW Eos, I placed a factory order for our new Mini Clubman S thru the Portland, Oregon dealer. Now I'm tracking it on the MiniUSA website
What fun! This is the 7th factory ordered car that my wife & I have purchased since our first one...a 1983 Eagle Wagon 4x4 when we lived in Anchorage. I've always enjoyed getting exactly what we wanted in a new car and to us it's been worth the wait, even tho it's always a nail biter!

While I've never been much of a joiner, I must admit that we are intrigued by the idea of meeting other Mini owners in the Pacific Northwest. We live in the lower-left corner of Washington State.
I drove a friend's new Clubman last year but other than that we didn't do a test drive, so I'll have my wife drive the new car off the lot. I have a sneaking suspicion that we're going to enjoy this car more than most of the others we've owned, and that's saying a lot.
