Production Length?

Hey everyone,

So I ordered my Countryman last Saturday, and was told today that it actually went into production TWO DAYS LATER!! How long does production usually take? A couple weeks? Possibly a stupid question, but is it weekdays only? Do they work weekends? I know the big factor in how much longer it will be depends on if it catches the boat at the right time or not, but is there a way to kind of gauge how much longer it will be?

Thanks in advance for the help!

7 to 8 days for production. Mine started on Monday, maybe with luck we will be on the same boat. Where is yours heading? Mine is heading to California and then trucked to Seattle.

Awesome! Mine is coming to Los Angeles where I am. Can't wait until I can start tracking the boat. I know it's tedious but at least it will be something new to look at every day.

Will do, I just checked the OL, it still says I am scheduled for production, but now it has all my specs and packages that I ordered! Progress, I will probably call ASKMINI tomorrow to see where in production the ALL4 is.

Just called ASK MINI and they said my car went through the body shop and is now in the paint shop.... from what I've researched, I think that's close to the end of production...

Booooo! Yours is ahead of mine! Mine isn't an All 4. Wasn't in the budget. Just a plain Jane countryman. Not too many personalizations or customizations either. But still, I've heard horror stories about people waiting weeks just for theirs to go into production so I can't complain.

@astronomax, did some research on ships that are going from Bremerhaven to Port HUENEME. The next one to leave is the Tomar on the 11th of April. It is scheduled to arrive in California on the 5th of May. So we should have our cars in 5 weeks if everything goes to schedule.

Awesome! Good research! I always had (and will still have, until it's on the ship) the fear that my car would get to the port the day after the ship left, and would have to sit and wait a while to finally be on it's way here. I've been reading on the "how to track your mini thread" and it will be nice when we can input our VINs into the cargo ID box and hopefully it will pop up so we can be really sure that our cars are on there!

Crossing my fingers that won't happen. It takes 2 to 3 days to get from the factory to the port. So hopefully we're closer to the front of the line to get on the boat!!

Just got off the phone and my car is getting its "loading assignment" to head to the port. I really, REALLY hope it makes the ship that heads out on the 11th!
