Happy to be a new member here. Here is my back-story:

In the late 90s I used to play with my elder son on the MINI web site. It was one of the funner sites on the web. We could customize a (classic) MINI with all sorts of wacky colors and patterns and fixtures like helicopter blades, gun turrets, kitchen utensils, etc. Later, in around 2000, my desktop wallpaper was a picture of a British Racing Green NEW MINI, right off their web site. Never thought I would actually ever own one, but, hey, I guess the seed was planted.

More recently, my old car was dying a slow electrical-issue death, and I thought I might replace it with something practical, but sporty, like a certain late-model, low-miles Mazda 3. While I was making these other plans, I spotted an immaculate 2006 MCS, 74000 mi, Space Blue Metallic (not BRG - oh well), for sale cheaper than the Mazda 3. Never gave the Mazda another thought. . .

Been lurking on this site for awhile. Love it!

+1! what ^DR says! Congrats, pics please! Had my grand Cherokee, a very good reliable vehicle for 10 yrs. Wanted something fun with good mpg's. Looked at Hondas, meh, Prius, double meh. Test drove a Mini just for sh**s and giggles, Voila!!!! Over a year later, having sooo much fun!!!! Joined a club, made some great new friends with a common thread and have learned so much on this site!!!
