I have a 06 mini (non s) and the key wont lock/unlock the doors with the remote buttons. the key has 3 buttons on it, do they have a battery in them? I've read so many differant articles I'm a little confused. And if they do "recharge" in the car how do you check them? I'm really excited to be here thanks,

Yes, they have a battery. They charge while you are driving. There is no way to check how charged they are, but some say you should switch keys (if you got 2.) every 6 months to make sure one is always good and charged.

 

If there's a MINI dealer near you, they can check it out - Usually free of charge.
