My first MINI

Hey everyone,

I've posted a bit around here over the past few weeks and forgot to post over here in 1st Gear! I picked up my first MINI about two weeks ago and have been loving it ever since! It is a 2007 BRG w/ Black top MCS with about 17,000 miles.

The most I've done so far is install my radar detector near the rear view mirror, but I'm debating other options. So far the only thing I'd had wished was different was a silver top and silver stripes but maybe next time! Enjoy the pictures!

Morgan

Wow, that looks great! You can always add stripes later on, and maybe have them go right over the top. ^^

I've been considering getting stripes but the BRG and Black combination doesn't seem to lend itself well to stripes given the small contrast between the two colors. I am in love with the BRG / Silver combination, but don't think that will happen anytime soon.

Am I assuming BRG/Black + Stripes is less awesome than I'm thinking?

You can always vinyl the top. With the sunroof it should not take too much material and if you don't like it then you can remove it. Should look good also.

Nice ride. Vinyl is the way to go if you want to change your roof color.
It looks like you did a great detailing on the car too. Ready to get trashed in the winter weather ahead.

I wish my garage was that empty.

Wow, sounds like the major recommendation is the vinyl! Any recommendations on where to look for these? All I really found were designs/flags online.

Yea, the winters especially in western NY really do make a mess. I'm not looking forward to that, but I am interested to see how well it handles in the snow. I can't resist a romp through the snow!

Look for a good quality sign shop in the area, one that applies lettering or wraps on vehicles. Once you tell them what you would like done they should be knowledgeable enough to pull it off. They should also have pictures of their previous work so you can see if they do a nice job or not. I would look locally and make some calls, ask some questions then head off and visit them so you can see if they have the color that you are looking for.

I was at a MINI Meetup today (first one weee) and it was suggested to go for Silver strips as well...and now I can't decide! Thanks for pointing out your gallery with the Black Stripes, it helps!

No problem! Good luck with your choice. It's a tough one! I'm sure you will love whatever you choose!
