New California Mini chick!

I'm ready to stick my head in the door and finally say hello. So,hello everyone! Just bought my first Mini, '04 Cooper S, chili pepper red, white roof, white wheels! It called me from across the street while we were looking at used cars, so we must be meant to be together. So far, it's completely stock, but first on deck is getting a satellite radio and a nice loud exhaust. It's used of course and makes some interesting sounds that we're trying to diagnose, and I just KNOW this is the place for all the answers! So I look forward to any tidbits of knowledge you experts can offer!
Have a nice day!

Welcome to some of the most fun you can legally have. Mini's have a bad habit of calling to people and encouraging them to spend money on them. It start with "buy me", then it is stripes, then wheels, etc, then you're broke but you will have one fantastic car

My wife has an '04 Justa...fantastic car...we just change the oil on it regularly (a must at less that 5000 miles, no more), changed tires and brakes once and drive it all over the place.

Best thing to do for mods is to do searches on here...as for exhausts...there is are a ton of options from mildly loud to really loud. But what most people say is one person's too loud is another's just right. I did an Invidia system on my '07 S that was really nice. Not really loud, but a nice sound with a good rip. Don't know what they are like for a 1st Gen Mini S. But it might be a place to start.

Good luck with the "interesting sounds". Once fixed, just go have fun with it, and check back in once and a while to let us know how it is going.

Hi & Welcome !

If it has run flat tires, those things can make very interesting sounds all by themselves.

When I bought my MCS, it sounded like a 4X4 truck going down the street.

First upgrade; get rid of the run flat tires then buy a Slime kit that includes an air pump.

You will enjoy the quieter ride by dumping the run flat tires ! ! ! Keep Motoring ! ! !
