New Mini Lover/Owner!
New Mini Lover/Owner!
Hi all,
Excited to join in the discussions and try some mods on my recently purchased '06 Mini S (R53). 54,000 miles, equipped with the sport package and cold weather package; I've owned it for 5 days and my only major complaint is that my commute to work is too short!!
I am using this as my daily driver, but I like a sports car with some 'pep' ( I also own a modified Triumph TR8), so I want to do some upgrades that are easy enough for a moderately accomplished wrencher.
Doing some research here, and I'd like some advice... I think purchasing several options are key; here's my short list, is this a good start?
~an M7 strut bar.
~a Scan Gauge II
~a 16% SC Pulley
~Sprint Booster
Also... What is the best type of synthetic oil to use, and how often should it be changed? Is this a pretty simple task for a DIY'er?
Thanks!
Rand

Welcome to the forum. The Mini revolution is certainly a fun ride.
I can't help you with the mods, but a good quality synthetic motor oil of the recommended grade will work just fine. I'm sure you know all the brands. Just pick your favorite and go for it. (You must know that the motor oil argument can go on forever.)
Again welcome to the forum.
