I have a 2005 Mini Cooper S. I have it since 2005 and love it so much. However, lately it gives me some problem but my mechanic can't figure it out. The a/c blows hot air once in a while. I took it to the mechanic twice, but he can't identify the problem and no hot air blowing out while the car's there. Does anyone know the problem or have the same problem before? Appreciated.

 

Looks like your climate control is acting up.

 

How do I tell the mechanic to fix it? I would think they know it, but they don't. Disappointed. :-(

 

Most of the time I find that mechanics are unwilling to troubleshoot intermittent or infrequent problems like that. They could spend hours digging around and not find the problem. Or they replace parts here and there hoping to stumble across a fix costing you a lot of money in wasted time and parts that may or may not fix the problem.

You may just have to wait until the symptoms are constant or can be recreated.

Is you mechanic a MINI dealer or someone else?
If not a MINI dealer then your mechanic may not have the equipment to read and/or interpret any diagnostic codes.
