My wife and I are now official owners of a 2008 Chilli Red Cooper S. It is here daily driver and she loves it. I get it on the days she decides she needs to drive something bigger. I've been looking at the forums trying to learn as much as possible about these little rides. Thanks ahead of time for the information that I will get.
Of course, we've already had to take it to the dealer for the timing chain issue and the dealer is saying that MINI will deny the warranty due to the previous owner not doing oil changes with them. I'm waiting on their solution right now. The service writer said that the lack of oil changes causes the tensioner issues and that since it has a turbo, it uses more oil than normal. Not sure that I believe that statement.
Anyway, thanks for your time and I look forward to coming here more than likely daily.
