New kid on the block...

Hello everyone!

I was searching the internet looking for information on the extended warranty for my 2007 Mini Cooper S Convertible Cool Blue~. I already have the Extended warranty for the service and today is the last day of my 4year/50,000 mile warranty on the bumper-to-bumper original coverage and I intend to purchase the Extended warranty for this one as well. There are a few things that concern me though...one being that the dealer allows you to pay the price $3040 for an additional 2 yrs/50,000 miles in installments but they charge you a flat $250 for that luxury AND you have a $50 deductible each time you take your car in for service with this warranty. I don't like these features. Can anyone put me in touch with a good Extended warranty service? I read that one of the features of a good Extended warranty was $0 deductible...I guess MINI didn't get that memo! LOL!

Thanks!

Look into Fidelity.I have it and I checked with MINI dealer and they said they are one of the best outside of MINI's.I have the bumper to bumper on my '07 the Platinum coverage.Covers virtually everthing. My deductable is $100. additionally, covers tow, hotel if stranded plus rental.I have not had to use it at this point but it makes me feel that I have a comfort zone in the event I do need it.I would highly suggest a extended warranty outside MINI's for added protection as these cars are very tempremental after 50,000 mi.

Extended warranty deductible

So, MiniBro...What do you suggest? Do you have the type of extended warranty that I am looking for? If so, then would you mind sharing your information? Thanks~

The deductible is every time you make a claim against the warranty. To keep you from using the warranty every time some little $2 part breaks, the warranty company makes you pay up to the first $100 for any repair you want to be covered by the warranty.

Whatever warranty you go for, make sure it covers the convertible top. Not all of them will, and it's very easy to get into big bucks if something goes wrong with the top mechanism.

Personally, I'd be hesitant to spend over $3000 just to extend the warranty out to six years from the original purchase date. We have two MINIs - one we've had for just over five years and the other we've had for almost five years. Neither one has needed a single repair since the original 4yr/50k warranty expired, and I think the odds of needed $3000 worth of work on either car in the next year are pretty slim.
