Cracking Driver's Seat

The previous owner of my MINI didn't take very good care of the driver's seat and I would like to get this panel replaced rather than buying seat covers or letting it possibly get worse. The seat material is leatherette and I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how much this might cost to get the panel replaced?

How about an oem seat bottom cover? No idea on cost either way.

Looks like you'll need an entire lower seat cushion. You can try to pick one up used or buy direct from the dealer. Probably a few hundred bucks, depending on whether or not they're heated. Might be able to find something at minicarparts.net

Try realoem.com. For an R56 it's $215.40 for the part.

check your yellow pages for a local auto upholstery shop and get an estimate, or three

from experience I'd say you are probably looking in the neighborhood of $300

That happened on my 2006, but not quite that bad - only in the starting phase. I think it's just the way you sit in the sport seats, not anything necessarily to do with the previous owner's maintenance. I looked after my seats and this still happened!
