Mini Clubman in Hoboken

Hi members,

My wife is going to relocate from California to Hoboken, NJ for 3 years. She has a new Mini Cooper Clubman Base model. I heard there are some flooding that sometimes occurs there, i'm just wondering if the Mini is suitable for the Hoboken conditions or should i just trade the Mini in and get a Honda CRV or something higher off the ground? She loves the Mini to death and does not want to trade it, but if necessary we'll have to do what we'll have to do. Please share some of your inputs so we can make an informed decision. Thank you in advance. I hope your answer is the one i'm looking for....

Thanks,
Kevin

I live about 15 minutes from the Delaware river and even if there is flooding there then there is always a road around the blocked off road. Unless your wife plans on frequently driving through flooded roads on a weekly basis, I think she will be fine

I think the MINI will be just fine, very few drown outs reported to my knowledge.

I lived in Hoboken for 6 years. Hoboken doesn't have a problem with flooding- the parts that flood badly are in north and central Jersey, along the Raritan and Passaic rivers for the most part. The Mini is an excellent car for Hoboken because you will have an easier time finding a parking spot.

exactly what he said, if you posted you where going to move to west patterson or wayne .. then id say you would maybe want another car as those areas tend to flood with excess rain or heavy snow ... hoboken is home too many minis !
