Power Steering is dead!!

Hi Guys,

My mini S 05 was broke down few days ago.
It was dead within the 15 minutes ride from work to home.
There was white smoke ran out under the hood with burned smells.
The car shut off right away and all electric powers were gone.
I wasn't able to restart my car again .

Have anyone in here experience this ?

After i towed my car to the autoshop for a check , they said that my powersteering bump is dead .

I am now searching for one , As they said, a brand new one cost about $1800 . Is it for real?....so %^%&%$#ing expensive .....

Will it effect other parts of the mini?

Please , advise!!

Thanks

New PS pump for $1800.00 !

Must be the Swarovski 18K gold model.....

Last I knew they run about $700.00 from the dealer and less other places.

Sounds like more than the pump is burned up ?
