Hi, I'm Zzzooom =)

Hi all of you lucky MC owners. I want to be just like you so day after tomorrow is my lucky shopping day for a fun, new used convertible. Top money will be $18,500 so am probably looking for a 2005 or 2006 model. '

ANY advise on what models are the best, the worst, what to be certain to look for, etc would be greatly appreciated by someone who has never-ever bought a used car & is more than just a little intimidated by it - but excited too!!!

Thanks =)

Welcome! Go for the '06 if you find one.

Although, I can not personally comment on the Cabrio models as I have a hardtop. For $18,500 you should be able to find a MC in good shape.

Private owners will sell you the car for less, but you will get a limited warranty with a dealer, so keep that in mind. Also, have a trusted mechanic or MINI dealership mechanic check out the car before you buy if you do not know much about MINIs.

I bought my R53 this past February for $9,000 and 'Gizmo' was at 81,500 miles. I have only spent about $200 so far but that was all for my filters and other misc. preventative maintenance parts.

Good luck!

If just MC is in mind and not a S you should be able to find a '07-'08 for 18.5k if you like that body style too.
