mini cooper sidewalk remote

can any one please tell me , how or if you can change the battery in key remote for 2008 mini cooper sidewalk, key will not unlock or lock doors yet when done manually it activates alarm

please help

Battery in Sidewalk Key

Hello: You need to run the car for a bit (while driving counts). They key apparently charges from the car battery when the car is running. It must be very run down. Running it should work. That hasn't happened to my Sidewalk, but it has happened with my husband's 2005.
