New Mini owner...
Hello to anyone and everyone on this site. I just bought a 2011 mini cooper base coupe! "liking it". For starters I sold a 06 350z to change over to a mini cooper. The z was nicely lowered and slightly modded. I'm 52 years and have driven some of very fast cars over time but I have a woman I love and she loves the mini cooper... so there you go... "repeat" I really like my little new mini cooper! SO what I plan on doing asap is getting a set of H&R sport springs and H&R TRAK+ 15mm wheel spacers.. seems to be a simple enough mod for this car. I am very aware of the "tire and wheel option but after viewing pictures of lowered minis on this site, some of which were sporting the stock wheels, I'd like to take that approach for my little mini. I'm open to what folks think about the the H&R springs and wheel spacers combo! Let me know... Thanks much...
I also have a new 2011 MCS. Sorry for what may be a dumb question, but what is the purpose of wheel spacers? Do they just give the car a wider stance? Does it allow the use of wider tires? Finally, would spacers require longer wheel studs to bolt the wheels on?
Thanks ahead of time...

wheel spacers
So yeah... as advertised by H&R, Eibach and such, wheel spacers give the car a wider stance and depending on the width of the spacers longer stud bolts would be needed. And yes some people use wheel spacers with wider wheel sets as well.
