I'm Paul and recently traded in my 05 Z4 3.0i for an 07 MCS fully equipped with 20k miles.

Thank you both! Thinking of upgrading the premium Hi-Fi system to the H/K one as I heard it's plug n play: speakers and an amp. I noticed that the hifi is not as good as BMW's hifi since Mini is not using higher quality drivers; thus, a lot of distortion at higher volumes.

 

Welcome to the forum, yes the base sound system in a MINI is poor.

I actually don't have the base, instead, I have the Hi-Fi but H/K is still much better =]
