Considering a Mini..Some help please

I relocated to South Florida, Palm Beach County..From New Jersey..Sold my 2006 E350W and I am looking to downsize (both in car SIZE and payment)
I am looking at spending around $8K on a used Mini..What I am seeing are mostly 2002-2004 between 50-80K miles...Are these cars still good deals at these prices? The car will be used to and from work (around 10miles R/t per day), and some driving on the weekends...Comments please.
Thanks!

Motoringfile.com has a buyer's guide.

As I always say in this situation, if you're not going new, consider a 2006. All the research I did pointed to that year as the ideal used MINI.

$8,000 is not likely to get you a cherry MINI, count on spending 10K for a good one with less than 50,000 miles.
