A few things we need to know first before we can help:

What year is your MINI?

Do you have a Cooper? Cooper S? John Cooper Works?

These are important details in order to get you the most accurate help.

 

Just saw your other thread. You have an aftermarket airfilter of some sort. Best bet is to either post a picture of it or head to a mechanic/auto parts supplier you trust and they can help you identify it and what to do with it. There is a good chance that it is a performance filter (you mentioned it's a cone filter) so it may be a permanent filter that you clean and put back in. Once you know what you have you can find out what you need to do with it.
