So if my car is to be completed tomorrow...

...then when will it get to NJ????!!!

I really don't have a right to be that anxious considering that I only placed the order on July 5th and it's going to be through the build process already, but how long does the process take from here? I imagine the shipping can't be all that quick and the VDC is an agonizing wait, but should I be expecting this to be another 4 weeks or more?

It's hard to say as there are many variables, but I would think that 4 to 6 weeks would be a good guess.

If your car is finished today you have a few phases left:

*Wait for ground transit - Mini's move from Oxford down to the port via train; you car will likely wait for at least a few days until the next train.

*Wait for sea transit - Mini's come across the Atlantic on car carrier ships; your car will likely wait a few more days for the next ship to arrive and be loaded.

*Crossing the pond - the Atlantic crossing usually takes about a week; ships coming to the NJ DVC usually have a stop in Halifax before getting to you. My Mini was 8 days at sea before unloading in NJ.

*VDC time - if anything unfortunate happened to your Mini during the crossing, VDC fixes things. Certain options are installed at VDC, so if you have any of those, that extends the time there (sorry, I don't know the specifics of what options are handled there). Then there's the predictable wait for ground transport. I was lucky with my Mini only being at VDC for 3 or 4 days - I haven't heard much shorter than that, so that is probably your minimum. A week isn't unusual... some of the VDCs seem to have a serious backlog with ground transit with some folks waiting for several weeks.

Transit time - since you are in NJ, it should only be on the truck and to your dealer within a day or so.

Dealer prep - Like the VDC, time here depends on if you ordered any options that the dealer needs to install, plus time to give the car it's final pre-delivery inspection and cleaning.

So, if everything works out perfectly, your Mini could be on a ship by the end of this week, across the Atlantic next week, and to your dealership by the end of the following... best case scenario, you might have it for the last day or so of July. I wouldn't count on it... early to mid August is probably about right.
