I think it's about time that I say hello, especially as I have been lurking around here for the last two and a half years...

In November 2007 I fulfilled my dream, a dream I had since I saw my first MINI Cooper in 2001 in a shopping center in Austria, and bought a pre-owned 2004 MINI Cooper S in Miami, FL. That's where I live right now although originally I am from Austria.

I love my Cooper S, but lately he hasn't been doing so well, so be prepared for some hopefully not too stupid questions.

Oh and here he is...

Thanks for the welcome guys. I hope to get Nigel back today and all is well again.

Been going through a string of bad luck - it stared two weeks ago with the power steering hoses leaking, got 'em replaced; on the way out of the dealer the engine overheated, or just the sensor or whatever did something funky, cause they couldn't find a cause and all seemed well until last week, when I started hearing a whining noise. The mechanic thought it was the AC compressor, but then they told me it's the harmonic balance. I had that replaced this Tuesday but the whining noise was still there... so back to the dealer yesterday. I hope they (can) take care of this now. The AC compressor was still under warranty yesterday.
