I am moving to Hawaii and must part with my mini as to sell it with warranty. I am going to hold out in hopes of buying the new 2011 diesel mini coming out. Has anyone heard of a for sure release date? Or has anyone brought one over from Europe?

 

There's going to be a diesel MINI in the US? Man maybe I should've waited! I love the gas mileage the VW TDI cars get without sacrificing performance.

 

Don't hold your breath for a Diesel Mini in the US ... to quote MotoringFile ..."However the one place we know we won’t see it is in the North American market. Since the engine won’t be shared with any other BMW models in the US, federalization costs would have been too high. Furthermore MINI USA is putting all their efforts into making sure the new 3 Cylinder engines for the next generation MINIs (due out in late 2013) match or exceed most diesel powerplants currently offered."

 

Why can't you take your MINI to Hawaii? Wouldn't count on getting a diesel there, but who knows.
