Saying hello to all new people...

Sometimes in our joy of owning a mini, we are so caught up enjoying ourselves, we forget the thrill of when we first got our mini.

The drives, the excuses to go to the store to "get milk" (I think that's where the bumper stickers came from "got milk"... Nope, let me drive my mini to the store and get some...lol)

Anyway, just wanted to say "WELCOME" to all the new mini owners, whether it's new or used, it's new to you.

Though our cars are not flawless, I wish you all many happy motoring miles.

Remember to wave!!!

Hi! We got our MINI last week. I've been doing the same thing, any excuse for a drive. Though today, I was heading out to the hardwared store and our Yellow lab, Bailey, followed me expentantly, hoping to go with me. I'd just washed and vacuumed the Mini and he was damp and shedding, so I reluctantly took the pick up truck, which Bailey thinks is his doghouse anyway.
We saw four deer and two horses on the way, so he had quite a bit to bark at!

Hi DneprDave,

I saw in your profile that you are a big fan of certain motorcycles. Years ago I owned Izh, Ural and even Java. My first bike was Minsk when I was in high school. BTW does Mini reminds you a ZAZ of the sixties powered by a 27 horses motor? I also owned one.

Cheers,

Vlad

WELCOME Dave, I've got 25K miles on my mini in just under a year. This is my 4th mini in 2 years and even after 25K miles, I still look for excuses to drive. I still take the long way to work or go out for trips for no apparent reason.

Hope you have many more motoring miles....

You are an animal Mark! My wife and I got mini's a few months ago and we are absolutely in love with them. Instead of taking vacations that involve flying somewhere, we now take mini-vacations (hehe) and just drive somewhere for the day. When I'm not driving, or being a passenger, I'm either on NAM or Motoring File or listening to White Roof Radio, or daydreaming about what mod I want to do next. I have an entire list of things that will keep me busy probably for the next 5 years. I don't know what it is really about these cars that puts a big fat grin on my face every time I'm near one. We went to Napa the other day and we pulled into one of the winery parking lots to find an R53 and an R56 parked next to each other. We were bummed that there wasn't a spot to make it a trifecta. We spent a good 20 minutes analyzing the cars and paying attention to the differences between the two models, and any mods they had done. We were so into it that we totally forgot about the winery! I'm so glad that my wife and I both appreciate mini's and are both looking forward to modifying them to make them our own. My wife actually encouraged me to black out my chrome so guess what my next mod is going to be? I'm so loving this!

That is so cool that you're into it but so is your wife. My wife will attend things like Mickey and Mini in FL. last year but other than that, she could care less.

When I want to go on the mini drives with other groups, I have to pretty well do it myself.

Glad you got bitten by the bug, keep on moddin'

The ZAZ 965 was a Fiat 600 clone, I think they had a different engine though. The Fiat 600 had some really cool Abarth performance accesories. It was big competition to the Mini in the '60s.

I have a Dnepr MT-16 motorcycle (that explains my handle) made in Kiev, Ukraine. A neighbor has a Czech. Jawa. I know many people with Urals.
