The Faery Queene
The Faery Queene
Hi-
Encouraged to post here as a newbie, I will do so.
Two years after the fact (I had a deposit down on a new Clubman in 08, but thats a long story), I am finally into a MINI (and shed a Prius to do so) and am very happy with my 2007 Cooper Coupe, which I have named "The Faery Queene" after one of the first British Operas----by Henry Purcell, to be exact.
I had not owned a manual transmission car since 2002 so its a joy to jam the gears again. While my Prius did very well (53.5 mpg), I am going to do close to 40 I predict in the MINI (still on my first tank), due to the great control we have on our mileage with manual transmissions, rolling into red lights, etc.
No problems to report. I am pleased that it included the iPod interface, although I have an '07 MINI but a 2009 era iPod touch. The instructions dont quite match up (ie, I cant seem to get an Artists List, or Albums List, though I can access most everything else), but it sounds great nevertheless, and keeps the iPod hidden away out of sight.
"My other car" is a proud 2003 Jaguar XJ, the last year for that great body style, so again my driveway is 100% British.
I look forward to learning much from the other owners.

I will post the pics, but in the meantime: 39.04 mpg
Filled up the 07 for the first time today and was delighted with my 39.04 miles per gallon. That tank got off to a bad start too, as the vehicle was left to idle quite a while at the dealership, when they were transferring it over to me. I will do better next time!!
