Hello all,
New member from Long Island New York.
Been lurking here for a while and just joined this great group.
I am currently set on finally buying myself a used Mini S.
Now here's my dilemma.....
Should I go for a supercharged or turbo?
I figure if I go supercharged, I would begin searching for an '06.
If I go turbo, I was thinking '08 or '09. My thoughts are that the first year turbo was '07 and that maybe I should stay away from that year.
Its definately gonna be a standard shift.
Soooooooo.......
I'm looking for all you current MINI owners opinions on whats the better
engine. I see there are many long time owners here.
I started kicking around finding a standard Mini, but really feel I would be happier with the additional horsepower.
Let me hear some thoughts. Set me straight

Both engines are good, your year selections are good, and you will recieve numerous suggestions, Gen 1 folks are going to sing the praises of the super charger, Gen 2 people will be sure that the turbo is the way to go. In the end you are going to have to make up your mind all by yourself, good luck!

I guess what I'm asking for is everyone's opinion on the durabilty
of the super charger vs. the turbo.
I also read that the engine was redesigned for the turbo.
Was that good or bad?

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum.
With regards to your future Mini....it should come down to your personal
taste and which one will put the biggest smile on your face.
To be honest, I would not snub my nose at either
