Hey CHOC... check out the Hansen site this morning, I'm curious to see if your car was also picked-up early this morning....

 

According to the Hansen's site, my Mini was picked up in Montreal today. Unfortunately, the ETA in Ottawa is shown as May 21st. Didn't know it took three days to travel from Montreal to Ottawa!!!!

 

My estimated date of delivery was May 5th - got to Ottawa on May 11th. However, my car (which was sitting on another dealer's lot) was stuck in Montreal due to bad weather (strong winds and hail). That pushed back the transport's schedule by 3 days.

So exciting! Both your MINIs should get here very soon!!!

Additional headlights on the radiator grille, mirror caps with paintwork changing from brown to black on the way up, and a discreet "Mayfair" logo on the direction indicators at the side round off the exterior design of this anniversary model.

The combination of Toffy paintwork with white highlights is also to be admired within the interior of the MINI 50 Mayfair again absolutely exclusive in its character. The seats demonstrate their unique style through their finish in Lounge leather complete with piping round the edges, Toffy colour, and additional white piping.

A further highly attractive effect is provided by double-cap seams on the seats finished in the same, modern and technically appealing turquoise-green colour as the frame around the "Mayfair" logo to be admired not only next to the direction indicators at the side, but also on discreet seat trim adorning the inner surfaces of the front-seat backrests.

The gearshift lever **** on the manual gearbox likewise comes with turquoise-green double-cap seams providing a visual link to the seats.

As yet a further highlight, the Carbon Black interior colour is combined with special trim on the dashboard finished in brownish black to reflect the colour of the mirror caps. The trim bar finished in Toffy at the bottom becomes black as it moves further up, providing a perfect transition to the dashboard likewise finished in black.
The Colour Line at the bottom of the instrument panel and the armrests on the door linings as well as the gearshift lever **** are likewise finished in Toffy, while the trim panels on the doors are in Piano Black.

All this is further embellished by a Toffy Brown inlay in the lower half of the steering wheel rim, footmats with white piping, the Chrome Package also available on other MINI models, as well as door entry trim proudly bearing the "MINI 50" model designation and the "Mayfair" logo."

 

I couldn't have said it better myself! Except, in my case, the roof of my car is black, not white.

 

Just exchanged e-mails with Hansens in Montreal. They tell me my car will be delivered to the dealership in Ottawa "by May 20th".

 

I may be camping on the dealer's lot on the 20th...

 

Checked again this morning, the Hansen site shows my car delivered to their yard on the 18th - yesterday, and that the car is still in Montreal.

And, the bad news is that it doesn't show that my car will be delivered until the 25th of May - incomprehensible!!

Was out and about all day yesterday - first full day of driving... Gawd I love this car! First road trip is this weekend! Cannot wait!

Question: Will your new MCS convertible replace the one you currently have? Or is it an addition to your MINI family?

I guess we'll have to survive the upcoming first long week-end of summer with the old 2006 convertible instead of the shiny new one

Dropped-in to the dealer at noon, no car yet. Snif....

 

I have not lost hope yet. Just received confirmation from Hansens that my car is being loaded on a truck and will be leaving Montreal shortly. Even if the dealer can't get the car prepared in time for me to have it this weekend, I hope to at least visit my new baby on the lot.....although it will be hard to see it and not be able to drive it

 

Here's hoping I'm on the same truck!

 

The Hansen's tracking page now shows that my car has been "released" - must be on the dealer's lot now!
