Hello!

Hi guys, I joined this forum to get help with finding wheels and tires for my 08 Cooper, but it seems I must post here before I can post in another thread.

Actually, I'm still unable to post so I guess I need to be authorized. Anyway, I've had my Cooper for about 20 months, and after 45,000 miles the rims are really starting to show their wear. I need new tires, so I figured now would be a good time to make the purchase. My Cooper is a yellow 2008 base model convertible. I have the standard size rim, but I'm thinking I probably want to go a little bigger. I'm thinking black, and I need to wrap them in all season tires since I drive it all year round in Michigan. The truth is, I have no idea where to start looking or where I can get the best deals. All help is appreciated, and I apologise for posting questions in this form but I doesn't seem to let me post in other forms yet. Thanks!

Hi!
I'm a big fan of tirerack.com personally. They have a forum for tires and wheels as well as something sponsored by tire rack if you take a look. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum, off hand I can't understand why you can't post to other sites you are obviously registered. As to wheels and tires, the Tirerack is a good place to start, OK prices, large selection, put together your tire ideas and send an email to Alexx he will have some reccomendations for you.
You say you live in Michigan so I assume you have some snow and ice to drive in at least 4 months a year. Have you gotten by without snow tires so far? Instead of all season tires maybe you should consider Summer High Performance tires for spring, summer, and fall, and snow tires for winter. The summer rubber will make the twisties more fun (add a 22mm rear sway bar for even more fun) and a set of snow tires maybe with a set of new wheels. Use you old wheels for winter and the new rims for summer. You can larger diameter, but the is really no reason to, 15" tires are cheaper than 16" or 17''ers. Larger offers no real advantage in fact the 15's will improve your gearing a bit and thus better acceleration. I put some Falken RT-615 205/50/15 summers on in April and have gained a lot speed in the corners.
