So strange - different dynamic!

There is such a different dynamic to the forums now! It's not bad, just different!

Back when I ordered my first MCS, there were no used vehicles to be had, and dealer lots were empty. EVERYONE had to order their car. And the boards were LOADED with posts about waiting for their car! haha

Now I see lots of people picking up used ones and taking off the lot. Congrats to those getting their babies so soon!

I needed/wanted something very special, so I special ordered again. There were no existing MINIs anywhere that had the specs I wanted and that didn't have the options I didn't want. So now I find myself in that excruciating wait again.

Last time, it was agonizing, but I look back upon it with fondness. Hopefully the same thing will happen again sometime, but right now it's killing me! And it's only been 5 days since I ordered.

I don't even have a production week yet, and the dealer overrode an already existing order of theirs, too.

So that means it'll be a little faster! That's good news

I ordered my first...the second I wanted to order, but they did a search and found an exact match sitting at the dock waiting to be loaded, so I didn't have to wait for production this time!

Cool! Congratulations! Yeah, back then, everyone had to wait like three months. UUUgh. It was awful! haha Is that what your first wait was like when you ordered?

I just don't have the patience for an order situation, couldn't wait so I took a car out of inventory that had the cold weather package I didn't want, but this winter my lower body was happy to have it.

BensMini (nice name! My son is named Ben) ~ you know that with my old MINI, that's the one thing I wish that I would have added (although, I didn't add it this time either to keep the cost down).

Yeah, this will be an autocross car, so that's why I needed something very specific.
