New member from Dallas, Texas

Hey everyone, new to the forums. I am a college student at UNT in Denton, Texas, just north of Dallas!

Right now, I drive a 98 Cobra that has a fully built motor and basically every mod I can do to it. I have a blower thats been going to waste, sitting in my parents garage for a year now lol.

Anyways, enough about the cobra, I am in the market for a MINI! I am into all sorts of cars, imports, european, domestics, trucks, bikes, everything.. I saw a MINI at a local meet though and just loved it, so I have been looking for one since.

Soo, if you can't tell, I am pretty new to the MINI world. I have been looking on websites like minimania to just get a feel for the price of them and what I might be able to get into but I noticed there are sooo many different kind sof MINI's... I guess what I am looking for here from you guys is some guidance on what I should be looking for because I know nothing about these MINI's.

My plans for it would be to just make it nice and clean. I already have a car that I can go fast in, so I want a nice car I can just cruise in and have fun with. I ultimately want to slam the car on a nice set of wheels (nothing crazy) and have a set of wide fender flares on it. Ill show an example of the exact car I would want and maybe you guys can help me. Sorry if I am asking a lot, I am just soo confused.

Here is an example of what I would want my MINI to look like.

Thanks for any help you guys might be able to give me!

Welcome to the forum, from your example web site I gather you are looking for a Classic Mini as built in UK from 1959 to 1999. Current MINI's are built in the UK with ownership of the brand in the hands of BMW. Classic Mini's are few and far between in this day because of age, those around are for the most part rebuilds. The MINI's you see today on the street are the BMW variety built 2002 to date. So what type do you want?

Hey, thanks for the reply!

I am definitely in the market for the pre 99 model MINI. I figured there weren't many around because after looking for just a few days, I can't find hardly any that are at a cheap price! (remember, I am a college student here haha)

I am unsure if I like the the 50's and 60's model MINI's but from what I can tell, I like the later model 70's to the late 90's version of the MINI's. I guess that is what I am in the market for. Also, there seems to be a ton of different makers of the classic MINI's, or at least they have different names like Rover MINI and Morris MINI.. I am guessing these are seperate manufacturer's or are they just different lines within MINI?

Also, one more question, where can I go about finding a classic MINI here in the US? I am located in Texas.

Thank you for any help!
