My best friend and housemate just purchased a pre-owned 2007 MINI R56 if I am not mistaken. It was at my urging that she picked up this amazing car. It is an automatic as she does not drive a manual. I am seriously considering buying an "S" model myself this year to compliment my current car. I currently drive a 99 BMW 750IL (E38)
I have in the most recent past owned an BMW E30 318i, BMW E34 525iT.
Looking forward to learning more about these great motoring marvels.

Wel I think you will find MINI's are indeed very interesting and a lot of fun to drive. Get yourself a nice "S" moodel and find out.

However, it takes some getting use to when you're coming from such a large car.
