I'm looking around for something new. Mini Cooper S seems to be on my short list.

I started out years ago with a AH Sprite and then moved to a MGB.

Currently driving a Z06 Corvette.

I know the Mini is not really British, but it makes me feel like I have come full circle.

Is there a sticker on a Mini that identifies option codes or options?

I'm looking for a blue S with a 6 speed, LSD and no moon roof.

Everything is going to be pretty obvious except the LSD.

 

Hi to a fellow Vette owner! Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a label on the MINI with the RPO codes like there is on the Corvette. I think that you can give the dealer the VIN and they can pull up the options list as well as any service done at a MINI dealership.

 

I found a blue 2007 S that looked like something that I was interested in. The dealer's website had a free Carfax that provided the location of where the car was last titled. It turned out to be a small town.

I Googled Mini Cooper and the name of the town, and one of the hits was this forum. A few posts down, in someone's avatar, was a picture of the same blue S with no sunroof. A few more posts down was another guy who obviously knew the original owner and lived in the same small town. Racing buddies. The thread was old and the buddy seemed to be active on the forum so I sent a PM asking about the car. I sent a link to the dealer's website with pictures confirmed that this was the car.

I now know all about the special order options and subsequent modifications to this car. It's not as easy as identifying options on a Corvette, but it can be done.
