New Chili Red Clubbie

I just bought a Chili Red S. I have a few questions about it.

I’ve always been a DYI guy. There’s nothing special about the brakes is there? No special tools needed, just some wrenches and a big C clamp?

I also understand the car tells you when it needs service. Do you need any special tool to reset engine codes or can you just pull the battery leads to reset?

They were pushing some kind of an extended service contract when I bought it for oil changes and brakes out to 100K miles and I could still get it but it was like $1900. That seems expensive to me.

Thanks,

JP

If you can do your own brakes and oil changes then the extended service contract may not be worth it. I do believe it also covers clutch parts, so for some that may be worth it. But if you are pretty DIY, then I wouldn't sweat it for $1900!

You need a caliper kit for the brakes. Harbor Freight has it for around $19. The rear calipers need to be compressed and turned at the same time to open them all the way

Yeah sounds like you can probably skip the long term warranty, save the $1900 to buy some go fast equipment.

Yeah that's kind of what I thought...

Thanks for getting back to me. I kind of thought I could skip all that extended nonsense.
