Hello from Kamloops, British Columbia.
We (my wife and I) are seriously considering buy a low kilometer 2005 Cooper base model with an automatic transmission but before making the commitment I need to have a better understanding of the car. First, does it really cost $300 just for an oil change? Two, is the back seat functional? And three, is the car generally considered reliable?

I would appreciate any feed back.

Regards,

Christian

Thank you.

I'm glad that I can perform my own oil changes and would you consider the Mini to be a reliable vehicle? that is, assuming that it is well maintained? I tend to baby my car.

Reliable as a Camry or Accord? Probably not. Practical reliabilty yes, it's fine. I don't think you will have any more problems with a MINI than most other vehicles. Take good care of it and I think you will be happy.
