Anyone Else in "On-Order" Limbo?

I ordered my Mayfair about three weeks ago and the status still hasn't changed. When I call ask mini, the automated message says "Scheduled for Production, with no confirmed production date". Not saying this is out of the ordinary, its just making me mental.

Just wondering if there was anyone else out there waiting impatiently...

I know how it feels to order a car and wait for 6 weeks!

Call your salesman (MA) and ask him the status. He can get info update as well.

Anyone know to what extent the factory is shutdown? Just a few days? A Week? I'm probably just driving myself Mad but I just wish I had some kind of indication. I guess I call the dealer.

I don't know how long the current shutdown is. A year ago in the middle of the economic crisis, the shutdown was more than 4 weeks: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/j...y-at-home.html

Thanks Gray Raven, however we already have on on order. I wanted to get certain features, namely sacrifice the S for interior options.

Well Crap. I hope the rise in world wide sales means they'll not be closed as long. Would have been nice for my dealer to clue me in on that. Oh well, I guess I should drop my status checking from every hour to every day and get some work done.

np, what other options are available besides the very cool interior

I just figured Limited Ed's had a standard list of interior features (ie) Loaded to the hilt

No, the mayfair package is basically all about aesthetics like paint, leather, chrome trim. It also has most of the sports package (sport seats, 17" wheels). We added the conveinience, premium, and winter pacakages, navigation and some other stuff.

Got a response from my motoring assistant. She said it would be built in Jan, but didn't have an exact date. Really all I want is to know when I might be able to expect it. I don't mind if it takes a couple extra weeks, I still need to sell my Prius.

East coast from build date to delivery should be around 6-7 weeks. West coast will be around 8-9 weeks total.

I'm right in the middle in Missouri. My motoring assistant also mentioned something about the factory holiday, so I expect it will be a bit longer than the normal estimate.

Yeah with the closing, you would have to know how long before they return to the factory. The time frame I gave you is from build date NOT from your order date. Some dealers will put you in a slot they had for an order (for the dealership invetory), some won't. Depending on how long you have to wait for actually getting a build date (slot)...it could be several weeks before you MINI is schedule for production. Hope this helps, I know how anxious I was to get updates.

It's an MCa, hot chocolate, with toffee stripes and a white roof just like the pictures. Got the white 17's with all season run-flats. Like I said earlier, we got all the packages, nav, plus smartphone integration for the iPhone and the RDC.

This is my introduction to sports cars, so I'm still learning about them. I've been trolling here a lot lately. My wife is interested in adding some wood elements to the interior, so that might be the first mod.

As far as performance I think I'll hold off until I get used to how it drives stock. From the test drive I think that will be plenty for me at first. My friend at work takes his BMW to the track, and he's trying to get me to come out with him this spring. So we'll see.

I'm just excited to get it the way it is and put it through the paces.
