Wrong Tomar, this is a some sort of small cargo ship, not a car carrier...

Thanks Kal, I did some digging and found that the Tomar I was tracking is actually some yacht! Funny coincidence that it would also be in the English Channel at the same time as the "real" Tomar, and in the right general position (though heading the "wrong" way).

BTW good job on the name of your car, I'm a big fan of Burn Notice too. Speaking of, when do we get some new episodes??

To the tune of "My Bonnie".....

My MINI is out on the ocean,
My MINI is crossing the sea,
My MINI is in the Atlantic,
Heading to Port Hueneme...

The Tomar...Tomar is bringing my MINI to me, to me,
The Tomar...Tomar is bringing my MINI to me.

Panama has a canal,
My MINI will see before me,
It has to go through there because,
It's headed to Port Hueneme...

The Tomar...Tomar is bringing my MINI to me, to me,
The Tomar...Tomar is bringing my MINI to me.

They built it in jolly old England,
They made it to spec don't you see,
Then tucked it away on the Tomar,
That's headed for Port Hueneme...

The Tomar...Tomar is bringing my MINI to me, to me,
The Tomar...Tomar is bringing my MINI to me.

My LB JCW Clubman is on Tomar w/ your PW

Have a look at http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/ca...html?cam=Gatun tomorrow (11/18) - you might get lucky and see Tomar going through.

Latest info

According to the Boyd website (http://boydsteamship.com/booking.php) the Tomar arrives at the Manzanillo International Terminal at 2000 Hrs on the 18th (don't know if that's local time or GMT). It is scheduled for transit "AM" on the 20th.

I just checked the Vesseltracker app in Google Earth and it hasn't shown up there yet.

Hey Brett...

Which of the 3 "local" dealers did you place your order with? ...might run into you on "pick-up" day.

HAHAHAHA... I love the "so far"... I said the exact same thing to my wife just this morning. Jerod HAS been great... but in the back of my mind is a little voice telling me that he IS still a car salesman and the process ain't over yet...

I could be wrong, but a ship that looks like it very well could be the Tomar is taking its sweet time passing through the Gatun locks in the Panama Canal at this very moment. Image isn't clear enough for me to get a look at the ship's name yet but it certainly matches the pics of the Tomar, and this is approximately when it was supposed to be there, so...

Check it out if ya wanna: http://www.pancanal.com/common/multi...-gatun-hi.html

Enjoy!

I think I captured the Tomar going through the locks at the Centennial Bridge.

Confirmed at Mirafloria

I captured a series of shots as the Tomar went through the locks at Mirafloria. One of the last shows the name as confirmation.

Great shots, bilseg. I'm glad she went through there in daylight -- impossible to tell what's what in the dark!

Good to have confirmation she's alive and well, huh?

Tomar MINIs

It occurred to me this morning that there are 5-6 of us on here that all have one thing in common, well two really... MINIs and the Tomar. This thread will end sometime in the next two weeks as we all scatter... BUT, if you all are planning to go to AMVIV7 in Vegas, Mar 26-28 (http://www.amviv.com/) we should meet somewhere, have a drink and toast the Tomar! Anyone wanna start a "Toast the Tomar at AMVIV7" thread? Bill

More Tomar tracking data

OoooKaaaay... nobody liked THAT idea!

Here is a "maybe" FYI for you... IF you wanna check, maybe starting some time Wednesday, but for sure Thanksgiving day, this website "may" pick up the Tomar. It appears to log ships as far south as Enseñada and their reporting seems to be near "real time".

Today??

I was showing a friend the tracking websites and saw this screen... it appears to show that the Tomar docked in Port Hueneme at 10:45 THIS MORNING?
