I'm glad we have a second spare car for me to use in the meantime! I had a bit of excitement this past weekend:

I've been driving our 15-year-old Saturn around, and except for some oil issues (and a wonky gas gauge... and a busted odometer... ), it's run pretty well for a 15-year-old car.

Well, Saturday I was driving up to campus to get some studying done in the library (grad school, yay), heading east on route 32 to get on to 95 north. Got on the exit ramp, braked, downshifted from 5th to 4th, and started to merge on 95. When I upshifted back to 5th, I don't know WHAT happened but the car acted like I just downshifted! And instead of having its usual spots to shift into for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc., the gearshift now just wobbles around freely so I have no idea WHAT gear it's in! I managed to coax it 35 miles back home through a series of adventures (starting from a dead-stop in 4th gear, navigating college football traffic, trying to get it up our steep driveway, etc.), but it's home and now I'm driving a not-quite-so-old Nissan Maxima with a bad suspension - the shocks are so wonky, if I hit a bump while going around a turn it begins to fishtail a little. So I definitely can't wait for my MINI to arrive now! Too bad the UNDINE's arrival has been pushed back from the 25th to the 27th now.

Waiting

Manon has left NYC and already chugging along toward Charleston for any southerners awaiting her arrival!

I'm double posting in week 45 as well since I made it on the boat with some of them as well!

Ack!! My car is ready and I am not!!! Got voicemail from my MA that my car is ready and could be picked up tomorrow!!! First off, would not be able to pick up tomorrow anyway due to schedule, but still have a car to sell and money to collect! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. 6-8 weeks only took 4 weeks! Need to get my butt in gear, but still waiting on a little extra back up payment! This is truly hell!!!

You'll be okay, but it's suffering either way.

Ohhhh man that stinks.....I asked my MA several times to let me know when I could expect the car and I planned my order according to his estimate, so I'm not really wanting the car early.....I'll just deal with it if I have to.

According to MA, he says xmas week would be expected, but the JCW aero kit and extras will take a few days to a week longer than normal so I should expect my car the first week of January.

BUT.....according to the "track and trace" website, my car's status is "customs release" and "liner release"....and is scheduled to be in Galveston TX on 12/3.
I'm not sure how this works, but I'm anticipating getting my car early...

So did I. I find it kind of funny that my Clubman left the Undine in Brunswick, GA and yours is still on board heading to Galveston. Hope mine makes it here before too long.

Anyone seen that before?

Not sure....I'll keep ya posted if anything shows up.
The only thing I can think of is that I ordered the jcw aero kit and a few other doo-dads that my MA said would delay my order a few days, even up to a week...
Apparently the aero kit is not put on at the factory, but rather installed somewhere here in the states. So maybe they split for that reason...

Owner's lounge just updated to say mine's at the VDC (was let off the ship last Friday), and that estimated delivery date is this Friday. :D

Now the Owner's Lounge says the estimated delivery date was 12/2/2009… yesterday! I'm still thinking it'll probably be Friday, but if this weather is any indication, it means that I'll get to take delivery of it TODAY. Both other times I bought my MINIs? Rained.

Friday's forecast: partly sunny.
Today's forecast: slight chance of showers.

Initially I was listed as being on the Tokyo Car, but it kept saying that wasn't a valid listing. By deduction I assume I am on the TASCO due at Port Hueneme on the 19th. Did you confirm that you are on the Tokyo Car?

On the Track and Trace site, it shows me on the Tokyo Car but when I click on the Voyage Number it never comes back with anything. It shows the ETA as 12/15 at Port Hueneme

Still waiting to pick mine up from the dealer. No word on it yet, but even if it was ready yesterday I wouldn't have wanted to pick it up in the snow since I'd want to actually be able to SEE the car before taking delivery.

If it's available tomorrow I won't be able to get it since I have to go to class (I'm helping a professor I had once out by being his TA this semester), and so hopefully I'll be able to pick it up on Tuesday.

Is it bad that I keep checking the status on the OL even though I already know where it is??

…I'm going through MINI withdrawal, trying to find MINI-related things to keep me occupied. I'm even looking in Off Topic, and I've never even been in there before in my 5 1/2 years of NAM membership.
