2010 MCS on order
Hi All,
Joined the forum a while back and have been taking notes to gain knowledge. Thanks to everyones comments I figured out what I wanted and have ordered a 2010 LB/W MCS with a few options. Prices are in and the car is $400.00 list above a 2009. That is for base and delivery. Packages are said to be the same cost but no definitive answer yet. I ordered Prem and Cold. Sold my BMW 3 series convert to buy it. Wife thinks I'm crazy but then again she hasn't driven the new MCS yet. I think the car will change her mind. Now the hard part, waiting for it to show up.
Thanks for having a great forum that provides a wealth of knowledge!

Welcome to NAM flyby & grats on your 2010 MCS.
Now comes the hard part... The wait for your baby to arrive!
Since you're a member of the NAMily you don't need to worry as you have the rest of us to help you along in your wait.
Btw, what week build did they assign you? I ordered a 2010 JCW on 8-1-09 and received a week 41 build. I've never wanted time to pass so swiftly as I do now!

Flyby, my last 13 cars have been BMW's and I drive a 335i convertible so it was a big change to order my wife a MCCS. We have a lease running out on an X3. I don't have a Mini dealer in Columbia, SC but as bad as the BMW dealer is in Columbia I really don't have a BMW dealer either. Anyway, good luck with your Mini and welcome aboard. Our's is at the port waiting shipment and can't wait, it will be a lot more fun to drive than the X3.

My wife REALLY could not believe that I would sell my 3 series for a MINI. I love BMW's (my wife has a 530) but the MINI is just more fun to drive than my 3 series that had only 170 HP and was much heavier than the MINI. Now if I had BMW13's 300 HP 335.....!!
The MINI shows its BMW roots every time I drive it -solid and surefooted. The MINI makes even going to the grocery store fun. It is hard to describe it, but I hope you enjoy your MINI as much as I am enjoying mine.
Thanks for all the comments. My Mini is in production now so it got in quicker than I thought. It is scheduled to be delivered the end of Sep. That will give me time to work on a plate for it. I had NJYNIT for my convert but I think that will go to the archives.
I don't think I'll miss not having another BMW convert. They are nice but not as fun as driving the MCS. I once read, and now believe it to be true, that it is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Not that the Mini is slow but some of the vehicles I was looking at had some impressive HP. Just hope I can keep from getting tickets because I already had one doing 90 and it felt like 60. I had to ask the MA if the car was in KMH instead of MPH. He laughed, said no and said I should tone it down a notch.

It is kind of funny that most look at the MINI and think it must be a handful on the interstate and it is just the opposite. It feels like a 3 series BMW - just as stable and itis generally moving much faster than you think.
I have had absolutely no luck keeping my foot out of the throttle - of course I don't try too hard

Congrats! You folks that actually have the will power to order and wait bless you. I've have wanted one of these little cars since 02'. I visited the Mini website at least ever two weeks. I browsed dealer inventories in the surrounding states because we didn't have one.
As soon as I discovered the local dealer, one week later I had a Mini. I told the salesman what options I wanted, of course there were none on the lot that met my criteria. So I changed my criteria. After driving one, I determined to take one home. I didn't want to wait any longer.
I have never owned anything that was this much fun to drive. I can't believe I waited this long.
Best wishes to all of you. May all the deliveries be speedy!

Happy Days! My Mini was born today on 9-11-09, 9 days after placing the order. I may have something on the car that reminds me/everyone of that infamous day 8 years ago. Maybe a 911 plate or something like that.
Looking for suggestions if anyone has one...

You might check with your state to see if they have a 9-11 memorial license plate or something that you can get. I know missouri has one...
NH does not. I also found out I need at least 2 letters with any numbers like 9-11. Still thinking about it.
Edit: Both of those are taken in NH. But, 9-ELEVN isn't.
Nice, very clever. I like the first one but checked two versions of it and both were taken. Second isn't bad either but reminds me of a Porsche and I think people will think I believe my Mini is a Porsche 911.
