from porsche to mini

Hello to all!
I just sold my 2004 911 Turbo. I bought a 2006 Cooper S and I have not been this happy since my girls were born.
I put more miles on my mini in a week than I did in two years on my Porsche.

Now, don't get me wrong, Porsches are great. I have owned different styles, from a boxster to 911 and none of them did what a Mini did for me. For example, it's like corparing a PS3 to a Wii. Sure, the PS3 has 10x more power, but not nearly as fun as the Wii. I would also like to say that the people I met with minis always seem to much more happier.
Maybe because they can use their cars all the time and not worry about a stone chip nocking 5-10 thousand dollars off the value of the car. Trust me, I have been through it, so next time you see a 911 or 911 turbo passing you, just remember just depreciated $20k and for a mere $4k, you can make the Cooper S beat the turbo!
It's happened to me!

my friend that i bought my Mini from sold it to make room for a 911. I think I got the better end of the deal ... although it is hella fun in his 911's passenger seat on an autocross course!

Welcome to NAM!

Nice story. I have a neighbor with a Porsche and he has told me that he wishes he had a car like the MINI that he could take to work everyday and have fun doing it.

I enjoy my MINI and Wii (almost) every day!

I was a Porsche owner for 20 years and still very active in the local Club, In addition I worked for a Very High end Porsche service company part time for 10 years. I have driven them all from low horsepower 356s, to 800 HP Twin turbos and everything in between. Actually drove the Porsche in the opening scene of Canterburys law the short lived Julianna Margulies TV series. I have to agree about having more fun in the Mini then my Porsche, I dont worry about taking it places,or the little dings I have on it. I just enjoy the car and all the people I have met in the club.

Welcome to NAM.There are quite a few current and former Porsche owners here who own MINI's as well. They are both great cars.
