Hello World! newbie tuner questions-bay area
Salutations,
I'm a relatively new(and proud) '04 MCS owner in the bay area.
To be brief, I purchased my mini from a dealership who had removed previously installed performance upgrades -- they took off the cai, pulleys, uni-chip, shock/strut bars(and braces, front - rear) and also the lowering springs.
They left the milltek exhaust(I assume because they couldn't replace it) and the adjustable lower control arms. And, yes, I did try to get these parts from them after I learned from the previous owner that he had traded in the car with them intact. But I had no success re-obtaining them:(
Anyway, I've gone ahead and recently acquired the m7 cai and the m7 16% sc pulley along with the 2% crank. My question relates to the fact that due the milltek exhaust I've been getting pretty bad back-pressure which is causing poor millage and rough idle.
Should I also re-acquire a uni-chip or is it better to have a tuner shop re-map the ecu after the cai and pulleys go back on?
also I hear that bay bridge motors is the place to go -- thoughts?
thanks much in advance.
