Hi all 
I've been lurking for a short while and figured it was about time to post an intro.
I had to retire my old van recently, it served us well but it was a 91 and wasnt worth dumpin money into any longer just to keep the ole girl runnin. So that meant I needed to find a new second vehicle, Yaaaay! I do love shopping for cars.
Our primary is an SUV, great ride, fantastic in the snow, very roomy and comfy... This time around I wanted something small and fun but definately used and I had a fixed amount in mind - I was determined to pay cash and not have another monthly bill hanging over my head.
I've been looking at Mini's for a couple of years, but by the time I got done building them on Mini's website all decked out like I want it they were like 30 sum grand - Youch! Plus, I really didn't need three cars. So for the last couple years it was little more than a day dream.
So, now the need is there for a second car. I drove a ton of different stuff, but when I took my Mini for a test drive an involuntary perma grin immediately set in. Compared to the asking price I made a totally unreasonable offer. To my surprise the guy accepted. So I became the proud owner of a 2006 Hyper Blue R50.
I've had the car for less than two weeks and have already added a K&N CAI (sounds phenomenal), Sprint Booster (works fantastic - totally eliminated the lag off the line), Plasma Booster (not sure if this is doing anything) and just hung a new Magnaflow exhaust on last night (ohhhh, the deep throaty growl, muahahahah
)
So yes, I'm now totally, hopelessly, irrepressibly hooked... ...and I'm lovin it!
Thanks to the NAM community for the advice/opinions/suggestions I gathered from various threads here while I researched the mods mentioned above. I've got a laundry list of mods yet to investigate and I look forward to chatting with ya'll about the possibilities in the future. Til then I'll be the hyper blue blur you may catch out of the corner of your eye out on a country road.
