Hello from New Albany, IN

This is my first post. I bought an '06 Cooper S just 4 days ago w/39K miles for my wife, who has wanted one for a few years now. Within this time the power steering pump is singing it's merry failing song. I found this site as well as others, and now I'm scared to death and started buying lottery tickets to offset my potential costs of ownership. The car needs tires and have already have been told to continue with the lottery tickets. Also, the dealer is the typical 100 miles away. Not Happy. Am I insane?

For buying a MINI, no. For buying lottery tickets, most definitely.

Welcome Gary 54!
I have not experienced any of the problems that have been posted so take heart. Come to the Bluegrass Mini gathering on 5/14 in Louisville - lots of friendly folks there who know a whole lot about Minis.
